I made a heart pillow this week.
Moa made a kiwi smoothie.

I wouldn't mind combining these two and enjoying a smoothie in bed, preferably with a big stack of magazines.

Reviewing January

Chilly cold month.

Started out in a greenhouse.

Ended with the babe getting tubes in his ears.  

Books, puzzles, pond hockey, and sewing in between.

I swear we don't talk about what we're shooting.  My own husband actually said we were crazy when he saw these pics together.  And he KNOWS we don't discuss our photos.

Defining a year.

Rounding the corner into a new year reminds me of how soon his 2nd birthday will be here.  April seems like the start of a new year for me now, not January.  My years are defined in momma years.  I love it.

I want to live in this week over and over again.

It was my birthday...

It was my birthday yesterday.

I celebrate birthdays the whole week, not just the one day.  Some may say that's indulgent, but I just think it's a good strategy.  That way, if something doesn't go quite right, you get 6 more days to work it out.

And in recent years, it helps ease my mind into accepting my old age.

This week has included a pretty bunch of girly pink roses.  An afternoon to myself at the museum.  Several attempts to purchase a new sound system.  Contemplation over a cup of tea.  Wearing my wellies for a rainy day trip to buy plants to fill up a new little greenhouse.  (That was especially good.  The babe loves the koi pond at the garden center.)  This calendar and that grater.  Sushi take out.  Chardonnay.  Magazine shopping.  And it ended with a bunch of pink tulips, late night cartoons with the babe and hubs, and strawberry cream cheese cake with white frosting.  It's going to take us awhile to get through that cake.  I can mail you some.

The Weekly Holiday: week 1

Welcome to the first week of a new year of photos between Moa and I!  It's called The Weekly Holiday because we want them to feel like we have stepped into each others life for a mini vacation, a little break for some beauty and some calm.  Enjoy!
