I saw this room from Traditional Home magazine recently and felt like I wanted to "wear" it. As a seating area I really like it too. I'd love this area tucked somewhere in my home, where I could be cozy, curl up, and relax. I especially like the ticking inspired loveseat, I'm sure it has a more proper name than "loveseat" but I like that name, the awesome feather printed pillow, and the cheery yellow lamp. Good stuff.

As much as I like gorgeous old books, it would be rather nice to be able to store some jewelry in a stack of them. Normally, I think this sort of thing is cheesy and unnecessary but the colors of these are so fun. I could be wrong. It could just be the worn paint and the twine that has gotten under my skin... either way *shrug* these "books" from Wisteria caught my eye today.

There are some new holgas on my Flickr stream today. It was so cold while we were in Duluth for New Years that it took me awhile before I could revisit these shots from down in Canal Park. But do I love Duluth, even when it's frigidly cold...
I put some neat links on a few of the shots too, if you are in a clickety mood. =)

The sun has been shining here! Yay! The days are longer, I love when it's not dark as night when I wake up, and now I'm starting to think of all that's waiting to grow under the deep blanket of snow we have in our backyard. The first photo is a row of bushes we put in last May. They are called Ninebark because their bark peels. The leaves are actually a dark red and sometimes have a blue tone to them in the right light. My goal this year is to get them to double in size. =)The second photo I've been revisiting a lot this week because it makes me happy. That bed is bursting at the seams with flowers. Several things will need to be divided and moved, which means digging more beds! My digger/husband is well aware, and even though he acts unhappy, I think he likes the process of getting dirty and saying he did something. ; )Are you thinking gardening yet? I can't tell you how much I want an old fashion chaise to haul around the yard, so I can read a book by whatever is blooming best at any given time this summer. I'd add some cushions though, of course!
For Holly's Interior Styling Group and her February challenge.
The guidelines: Using tape, thumb tacks, nails, whatever you would like, photograph a collection of your favorite images against a wall. Think of arranging them in a gallery-like fashion. Remember, you are styling a photo to tell a story. Try to choose images that relate to one another and this time you can use odd or even numbers but you need to show more than 5 images in your photo.
It took me a heck of a lot less time putting this together than the shot for January. I wonder what that says... Does it mean that I'm better at gathering up "flat" items and/or that I'm better at 2 dimensional spacing? I enjoy this shot. At first I thought I didn't. I think the bit of shadow adds a moody romance to it. And I can't believe that it's the first "inspiration board" that I've ever done. I usually do that sort of thing with mosaics on Flickr because I'm so inspired by photographers. I will definitely do it again. What a nice side-effect of Holly's challenge!
If you want, you can read my tags here to find out more about the items in the shot.
Oh! And it's Monday, so TwoGirlsTwoPostcards has a new week of fun to see and read!
My blog has been so full of pink lately! If you could only smell these cupcakes! The strawberry is, for lack of a better word, powerful. =) It without a doubt makes me think of the dolls we had growing up and reminds me again of the angst I felt because my sister and I each only had two. (Mine were but of course Strawberry Shortcake and Blueberry Muffin.) I'd go to my friend Sheree's house and she had ALL of them. ALL of them! I was so jealous. They looked so pretty on the shelf they lined above her bed. (Can you tell I never got over only have two?)So, I meant this post to wish you an early Happy Valentine's Day, but now I'm on the topic of 80s toys. If you grew up in the U.S. did you love Strawberry Shortcake dolls as much as I did? What were the popular toy lines in your country when you were young?
Mmmm... now I'm remembering my 6th birthday. I had a cake shaped just like the Strawberry Shortcake character! Guess that kind of links us back to the cupcakes anyhow. =)

Happy Monday!
So yeah, I just ate a bunch of gummy sugary sour hearts for breakfast. It was a bad idea. But I couldn't help myself. And even though I'm rather fond of love, I think this is hilarious.
If you'd like something new and different to do this weekend, grab your honey or a bunch of girlfriends and get down to W7 Collective. Maybe your love life "bites" this year, or maybe you want to spread the love by supporting independent and local artists. Either way I'll be there. And I can't wait to see you!Oh, and as it's Monday, TwoGirlsTwoPostcards is new again. Come see what Moa and I are up to. =)
cover up in Emma Watson's pretty throw...
...and eat candy all day.
How about you?
Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

What's going on here...
The paperwhites that I bought myself for my birthday are blooming. It's hard to believe these little flowers can produce so much scent. It's snowing today and it's such a juxtaposition to have lovely flowers blooming in the window.
And here is a question... could one ever tire of empty milk bottles? They are almost too "country" but not enough to scare me away. I like the idea of a vase having been more than just a vase at one time, but a relic from the past, back when the necessities were brought right to your door. In fact, I was born in the 70's, yet even in high school, I remember "the milkman" bringing our milk for the week. He'd knock, and if no one answered, he'd walk right in and put it in your fridge. Can you believe it?! (Well, besides the fact that I've never actually liked milk, and it was in plastic gallons at that point, that's pretty cool. One of those stories I'll tell my kids that will make me sound ANCIENT. lol)
Also, this fabric is a pillowcase. It's from a set of pillowcases that were on my parents' bed when I was young. I nabbed them when I was home this past weekend. I saw them in the hall closet and said to myself "Oh yes. These are coming with me."
=)
