Oh lake. I miss you. But I promise, after this weekend I'll give you lots of attention. But as it is, I've been cheating on the great summer goodness that is a Minnesota lake, by preparing for Red Hot Art this weekend. It's going to be a swell time. And if I can't be on a lake, the next best thing is to be at a festival. Not only that, but I'll be sharing a space with the very cool Devon from Stella and Hodge. If products could share those best friend necklaces that we all had when we were in jr. high, then I think ours would. They compliment each other so swimmingly, I can hardly stand it. =)Please come see us! I'll give you a big hug! Or a hi-five. Whichever you prefer. ; )
I'm busy planning, planning, planning for Red Hot Art next weekend. I have four words. Booth. Decorating. Is. Fun. =) If I have any free-time hopefully I can get to some other things, including:
* Shoot the farmers market carrots that are sitting in the fridge.
* Find a top to practice my never tested tie-dye skills.
* Take a walk to the river or around the lake.
* Unpack my overnight bag from earlier this week.
* Wash the mountain of dishes in the sink.
* Make some shortbread cookies, my new summer obsession! So yeah, I looked up It's a Small World After All because this globe shot makes me think of that song. But watching the video and all the twirling dolls made me dizzy and a tiny bit creeped out. Haha So watch and reminisce at your own risk. Gosh, I did love that song when I was little though!Maybe I should have gone with a little Lisa Stansfield love instead. ; )
Happy Friday!

What do you say we head out to the lake today? A nice early week getaway to see some California rellies that are in town just for a couple days? It does sound excellent. I'll gas up the car. =)*****
Before we go, did you check out yesterday's Words To Shoot By? My contribution is happily sitting between two of the most pretty sets of photos.
Okay, I'll meet you at the car. Don't forget to grab the tunes.
Oh, and the sprouts.=)
I read the most fun blog post recently. Thanks Rachel for the inspiration!
~Sometimes I order two tacos when I know darn well I'll only be able to eat one. I just think one sounds kind of sad and lonely.
~Sometimes during the day I leave the tv on, but keep it muted. Which always gets me in trouble, so I try not to do it. Okay, I only say I'm trying not to, I still do, I just don't want to get nagged about it.
~Sometimes I want to push all the carts from the cart corral at Target up to the store. But I don't.
~Sometimes I say obnoxiously gross things to my family just to hear what they sound like out loud. Then I laugh my head off at myself. It's so rude. Hehe
~Sometimes I could just cry when I see trees being cut down for no apparent reason.
~Sometimes I think I should sell 75% of my belongs on Ebay and use the money to pay back my husband for supporting my business, or at least take him on a trip with it.
~Sometimes I think I'm total crap, and sometimes I think I'm really awesome.
~Sometimes the stack of magazines next to my bed gets as tall as the mattress, and I put my arm on it while I'm sleeping.
~Sometimes I crave gas station candy to the point of insanity.
~Sometimes I think I might shrivel up and die if I don't get to a concert where I can jump around, sing, and feel alive.
~Sometimes I have to just read while I'm a passenger on a road-trip, because if I had my way, we'd be pulling over every 1/2 mile for a photograph.
I say CHERRY tomato! =)
Yay! I picked my first handful of cherry tomatoes last night. *sigh* How many will make it to a salad? I'm guessing few. I can't help but eat them while I'm tending the flowerbeds. It reminds me of growing up on a farm, playing outside all summer, grabbing snacks from the garden and getting water from the hose.
If only I had a clothesline today that I could throw some quilts over. Back then I'd sleep in my makeshift tent, after eating tomatoes, carrots, and apples all day. I think now I'd journal with a glass of wine and float away into memories...
That tent is looking better and better by the second. A girl is never too old to camp in the backyard one more time, right?
Happy weekend!
Ahhhhhhh..... that's the sound I'm waiting to hear. =) That nice, exhaling, sign of relaxation, sound of "ahhhhhhhhhhhh" and it's hopefully going to be in abundance this weekend.
Which, by the way, can you believe it's July?! Freakin' July! When did that happen? I was all "do-ti-do," thinking "this is going to be the longest summer," when things started warming up here in March. Now all of a sudden it's JULY.
But now that I've notice time moving along, I'm going to really focus on doing nothing this weekend but enjoy the holiday. Eating tons. Drinking good things. Wandering aimlessly taking photographs. Dipping my toes in several lakes and a pool. Hopefully sitting by a campfire or two. Riding in a boat. Playing yard games. Reading a few new books and chatting with family.
I'm also interested in having these things play apart in the 4th of July weekend too:
A pair of vintage shades.
A tie dye tank or something else.A double batch of cookies. And a suitcase of maxi dresses. So, if you are celebrating THE 4th of July, or just enjoy a regular weekend, I hope you have an "Ahhhhhhhhh" moment or two too. =) And I also want to say a big "hello!" to everyone new who has stopped by the blog recently! I'm not sure how you found your way here, but nice meeting you!
