Picking tomatoes, so many snuggles in bed, the August of dahlias instead of zinnias (miss those zinnias though!), fabric shopping (preparing for a fall project-- a quilt, eep!), amazed at this kid's hair. Reading in the tub, reading during dinner (daddy does the best Madeline and the Cats of Rome!), reading in the car (okay, more like fake reading a coloring book). Lunch date in a backyard, pancake breakfast, train store and ice cream, painting/pool party, late afternoon swims. Getting accustom to more newness. Filling up on NOW, preparing for things to change, and arriving at the point where it will be more than okay. It will be so good.
And a massive heatwave, that we hid from with closed curtains. No state fair for us this year, I guess. Awwwh, well. At least we got to watch a storm roll in and run for cover and laugh.
(The 6th image is from Rifle Paper Co., I'm so looking forward to their 2014 calendars!)
