See you tomorrow!

I've been busy today packing up all kinds of goodies (photo boxes, magnets, and flat notes!) to go along with the prints you will find at my booth tomorrow.

So, grab a latte at Nokomis Beach Coffee and head over to the lake for the 3rd Annual Nokomis Urban Craft Fair.

I heard there might be some snow in the forecast. I don't know about you, but that TOTALLY gets me in the gift buying state of mind. And getting it done the sooner the better will be great. That way I can enjoy December stress-free, baking all the things I never have time for because I have to run around finishing up my list.

See you tomorrow!

Blue eyes, projects, and rolling into the weekend.

I follow @grnweddingshoes on Twitter and yesterday she posted the prettiest wedding on her blog. I'm most in awe of the photographer, Kristen Marie. This is my new favorite favorite favorite photograph. Seeing through the caning on the chair back, through the woodwork, through the tablecloth, through the window in the background... *sigh* such greatness. And plain and simply, those BLUE EYES. Are you kidding me? Perfection.

Well, happy Friday all! After coming to a standstill on some projects for Nokomis Urban Craft Fair next Saturday (woo-hoo!) I've got some time to actually clean this place up, and I better take advantage of it. I like going into the weekend with a clean house, how about you?

See you next week!

Canada, pizza, and let's redo the living room.

What's the deal with Canada having all the best design shows? I refound Sarah Richardson the other week and I kept the episode where she did this room on my dvr forever. I'm so obsessed with the easy and slightly girly feel to it. It's like the pink inside of a seashell. (The mirror being off center drives me alittle nutzo, but I'd deal with it!)
My heading into winter-nesting-redecorating-and overall coziness making mind is telling me to redo our living and dining room. And I recently had a run-in with some pizza and the cushion on our couch. Oops. But we've had it for a long time and it's served us well, even though it came from a discount warehouse and traveled cross country twice. So at the moment I'm dreaming of a velvety white sofa and an overall Swedish feel. At least what my mind thinks Swedish looks like. ; ) (Moa, maybe you could help me with this one?)

Hmmmm... it's interesting that my interior aspirations are coming from Canada and Sweden. I mean, we all three suffer from long cold winters. It's pretty understandable now that I'd be drawn to them. Now I feel like I should dig deeper for more inspiration. Do you find that you do the same thing? Or do you go for the complete opposite areas of the world from where you live?

We have frost here folks! So, I'm off to embrace it with a shoot. Red leaves, crinkled zinnias, sedum heads. I'm only thinking that I probably should have cut all the snapdragons and brought in a bouquet. I could smack my forehead over it. Duh!

2011 Calendar-- TWO ways!

The weeks are quickly pointing me to Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve. How did that happen? October was so warm here that I'm really going to have to focus and realize that there are only two months left of 2010 and the holidays will soon be upon us. I can't wait! I'm going to decorate sooner than ever, and dig up all the recipes I've been saving to try specifically for this time of year.

The end of the year of course means a brand new one is just on the horizon, my Just Another Day wall calendar says so. I've been asked about doing my own calendar for the last couple years, and this year I decided to take the leap!

Said leap resulted in two options-- a calendar of 12 individual 5x7 pages, and a 12x12 wall calendar. I hope you likey as much as I do! =)

Pink Autumn

I'm home sick today, on day 4 of a crappy head cold. Sniffles, sore throat, burning eyes, slight fever. Blah. But to lift my spirits this morning, I quickly ran outside for a short photo session with my asters. Every season I think I have a fave flower, like say autumn, I think it's chrysanthemums, but asters with all their feathery gorgeousness remind me that I can't have just one.

So, if you are capable, please go spend the day in the sunshine for me. I'm going to lay on the couch with some kleenex, and maybe fold some socks. ={

Edit: Holy Moses, I sound like such a debbie downer. Yikes! Maybe I need a nap before that sock folding. =)

Gone Shopping!

After a summer hiatus, W7 Collective is open again. I had a sneak peak yesterday when I dropped off my photography, and I'm going back and bringing my wallet today. It's so fun to find great things and know that you are supporting local, supporting artists, and getting fashion and art not seen at the mall.

Some of my faves at the October event:

Modern Meets Whimsy earrings
Laurie Hoffman reversible, cozy, and gorgeous neckwear

White velvet pumpkins from

Fall...

...in tones of pumpkin, midnight blue, steely grey, and silvery green. With kitties, warm sweaters, and pie.

I was perusing my Flickr favorites the other day, and this common thread emerged.

{1. Music and silence combine strongly because music is done with silence, and silence is full of music., 2. Untitled, 3. Hello Fuzzy Goodness, 4. Untitled, 5. Botanic , 6. flaky, 7. for martha, 8. intersect, 9. Untitled}

My mom is a prolific knitter, but I didn't get that gene. My husband is allergic to cats, but someday I will wear him down. ; ) And well, pie... who doesn't love pie? I think this will be the season I become a pie-maker.
