Simply Cool

I'm battling my fourth or fifth cold of the winter right now, I hear pregnancy is fun like that, and so I've been beating myself up for not tackling my list from this post and have instead renewed my friendship with a box of kleenex and my bed.
I was feeling down about how unmotivated I've been, when yesterday I got a very neat surprise. My photograph
The Breakfast (circled above AND pointed out with an arrow. Overkill? haha) was featured on Real Simple magazine's blog Simply Stated by the very cool Holly Becker.
What a lucky lady am I? The power houses Alicia Bock and Irene Suchocki are there, along with recent Etsy Featured Seller Romina Bacci of Miles of Light, and just a day ago I was dreamily admiring Amy Longberry's tiny deer series.

I might still be sick, but I'm also honored and inspired.

Pine Needles and Roses

New to the shop, Pine Needles and Roses abound. A twist on winter.
Merry, merry, merry.

It seems like the end of each year finds me scrambling to get a few things in under the wire. It's like sending off the year with a big "thank you" kiss. With sixteen days left in 2010 there are some things I hope to still do.

} Visit the MIA, for this and this exhibit especially.
} Make this yummy looking ham, cheese, and asparagus strata.
} Get my pre-mommy zen on with more prenatal yoga here.
} Finish this and begin this. Can you believe I've never read the 2nd one, or seen the movie?
} Stop putting things on my list (like books) that I know I won't get a chance to finish. =)
} Go for a snowy walk on our stretch of this.
} Hit up the dentist. The year should end with sparkling teeth.

Wishing you the best as 2010 winds down. May you get YOUR list accomplished. Or happily throw it out and just relax!

Treasury Love

I'm so fortunate to be in many awesome treasuries. I thought I'd share this cool one with you. I really dig the navy combined with golden yellow, mauvey pink, and silver tones. My disco photograph is included in it, and the treasury is "party" themed. It's got me thinking New Year's Eve already! Great job DirdyBirdy, and thanks for the treasury love!

Cozy * Delicious

We were snowed in this weekend and it was delicious.
I don't think there's much I enjoy more during the winter then being snowed in, with no where to go, nothing to worry about, and just being safe and cozy.

On the menu during the blizzard:
Potato leek soup. Satisfyingly good as usual.
Salted caramels. A new experiment that didn't quite set. I heated it to "soft ball" instead of "hard ball" temperature by mistake. Still they were good enough for us to gush over.
Raspberry french toast. Made for a cheery Sunday, but I think I over did it with the berries. I didn't know that was possible!

Being snowed in might be bad for your health. All I did was eat! =)

p.s. It's Monday, so our postcards are up!

Books for Bub

So, the little guy won't be making his appearance until the end of March (and yes, I've been calling him "Bub") but last night we picked up his crib and changing table, and this morning I was cruising Etsy from my phone before I got out of bed (too much info?) and these books were in the "You Might Like" section of my front page. The Aviary is full of owls (love!) and other goodies, including more books, in case you'd like to check them out for yourself.

Have a great Thursday! I think I'm going to tackle putting together the changing table. I'll probably regret it, cause I'm bad at directions AND building things, but I'm antsy. ; )

I had a merry little weekend...

I hope you did too! We tried getting in here, but will have to go this week instead. We did however eat here and it was yummeh as usual. And everywhere we drove the trees were full of snow and the world was lovely.

December is pretty darn special. Just sayin'.

p.s. Our postcards are up here.
