After a summer hiatus, W7 Collective is open again. I had a sneak peak yesterday when I dropped off my photography, and I'm going back and bringing my wallet today. It's so fun to find great things and know that you are supporting local, supporting artists, and getting fashion and art not seen at the mall.
Some of my faves at the October event:Modern Meets Whimsy earrings
Laurie Hoffman reversible, cozy, and gorgeous neckwear
White velvet pumpkins from Plush Pumpkin
...in tones of pumpkin, midnight blue, steely grey, and silvery green. With kitties, warm sweaters, and pie.
I was perusing my Flickr favorites the other day, and this common thread emerged. {1. Music and silence combine strongly because music is done with silence, and silence is full of music., 2. Untitled, 3. Hello Fuzzy Goodness, 4. Untitled, 5. Botanic , 6. flaky, 7. for martha, 8. intersect, 9. Untitled}
My mom is a prolific knitter, but I didn't get that gene. My husband is allergic to cats, but someday I will wear him down. ; ) And well, pie... who doesn't love pie? I think this will be the season I become a pie-maker.
It's now officially Autumn. How lovely is that? What's even more lovely is that ekate designs (by jewelry and fashion designer Erin Kate) is hosting the grand opening of her magical Orchard Art House this Saturday. After months and months of converting the tiny guest cottage in what was once the orchard on their property, Erin Kate, and her husband Ben, have produced a playhouse for grownups. It's sweet and will be PACKED with goodies. Oodles of jewelry cover tables. Paintings, photography (including mine!), and prints of all kinds cover every inch of the walls. And if one turns their gaze out the window, yup, there's a lake. A lake mostly like used to reflect your new gorgeous purchases. ; )
Activities for kids from 3-5pm, followed by tasty treats and live music for the adults. I've also heard rumors of a bonfire... How tempting is all that? Hope to see you there!
I've been meaning to toot my own horn for forever now, so I guess at this point, it's better late then never.

My photography was mentioned in Minnesota Monthly's Best of the Twin Cities issue! A seriously high honor for me. I love this magazine for it's thoughtful and trusted articles, letting me know what the heck is new and awesome in Minnesota, and whittling down for me where I should head for a good meal, great style, or gorgeous outdoor views. Not to mention a million other things. And in a world of disappearing magazines, to me it's simply a touchstone.
Thank you Minnesota Monthly! You made this Minnesota girl's summer.

The neighbor down the street has the prettiest pot of succulents. I can't help but stop and "oohhh and aahhh" like the true nerd that I am whenever I'm walking to the post office, grocery store, coffee shop, etc. There is something so fascinating about simple succulents to me. Not to mention that they also remind me of the time we lived in California. And anything that reminds me of that is top notch in my book. These in particular are a really gorgeous mix of colors don't you think?
Also, have you been over to TwoGirlsTwoPostcards lately? I know Moa and I get a little long winded in our notes to each other. We are chatters, what can I say? But the images alone make for a nice respite each week. And we just so happened to shot such similar things this week, that I smiled from ear to ear when I received her postcard. =)p.s. The candy bar is all gone, or else I'd be happy to offer you some!

Why hello you.
Why hello September.
I'm dreaming of apple picking, wearing chunky sweaters, cheering on the Twins in the playoffs, and the gorgeous colors of fall. My lovely contacts on Flickr remind of me all these things. (Please, please click on each image to visit their streams of goodness.)
I need a long walk with a camera. I need to post more here, and show you the very cool mention I received recently. I need to get a haircut.
I needed fall, and I got it, so the rest should be no problem.
