{Let's Decorate} And I'm in it! Yay!

If you are a fan of Holly Becker and her blog Decor8 (as anyone who owns a computer and loves being inspired by pretty things is!) then you've heard by now that she has a fantastic book out entitled Decorate. I preordered mine months and months ago. Little did I know that a print of mine graced the wall of one of the lovely rooms within it's pages, Leslie Shrewing's daughter's room to be exact. Leslie has impeccable taste! I'm so honored that SHE has one of my prints. =)

I've only had time to peruse the images, I still need to eat up all the words, but the new babe here has taken over all my free time. That being said, the images alone are delicious. I can only image what I'll learn from Holly and her amazing line up of contributors. Can you say Jonathan Adler, Amy Butler, Abigail Ahern, Kelly Wearstler, and Nate Berkus? Just to name a tiny few!

Check it out at
Anthropologie (goodness, I'm in a book that is sold at Anthropologie!) or on Amazon.

Congratulations on a lovely book, Holly! Here's to many more!

Some Sunday Sweetness

Just popping on to say "hi" and share some little sweetness with you. I'm barely finding any time or any motivation to do anything but stare at this guy. Can you blame me?
=)

We cuddled in bed this morning while the sun started to stream through the curtains. (Did you know that it snowed here Friday night? Good grief!) But Sunday has been sunny and all is well in this little world.

Hopefully I'll be back this week to share with you something really cool. A hint: one of my prints turned up someplace awesome.

Bub is here!

Bub is here! He is in fact, one week old. And he has a real name now too...
Graham.

He's dreamy. He's my heart. He's adorable, even when crying. He's tiny but huge.

It's like he's been here all along.

This & This

Just popping in to say "Hi!" as I'm still very much pregnant and in need of distractions. =) These listings from my Etsy faves are a lovely distraction and they seem like they belong together, don't you think?

* Mini wool felt posies from A Market Collection.*
*
Within Your Reach original art from PintaMedelia.*

p.s. I've past my due date, which I know is normal, but I'd love to hear any suggestions you've got for nudging this Bub out! =)

favorite things gathered

I've not shot anything, in what feels like forever. I've been hurriedly finishing up household projects, and running errands to gather everything I think I'm going to need for the hospital and for once we get home.

I bet I actually didn't need to do half those things. And now that I've taken time for myself, to be creative, and just see some beauty and attempt to capture it, I feel more ready than ever. I feel more like myself. I feel more capable. (I think I do feel a lot of relief having almost all of my lists checked off, having my bag packed, and a clean house too. All of which allowed me to sit with a clear head and just be creative again. I'm just one of those epic list makers and I don't think I could have been creative again without getting those things accomplished first.)

We got a bunch of slushy, wet snow last night... just when it was finally starting to feel and look like spring. But I still see spring when I look at the things gathered in this shot. And the snow has got to melt eventually, right?

-a peek into my house-

While waiting patiently here in the last days of "bump-dom" I thought I'd share a glimpse into my little house.

Around here we like family hand-me-downs, scavenged finds, a little Ikea, way too much color, warm light, mirrors, and white accents.

I'm always so jealous of all white interiors with organically earthy accessories and worn to perfection lived-in-ness. I have yet to apply this to my own house. Paint chips pull at my heartstrings and I'm just not as cool as I aspire to be. Maybe someday, maybe someday...

<<<<>>>>

So.... get this. As we went into nesting overdrive this winter, ordering new couches for the living room, renovating the basement (and planning to move our current couches to that new entertainment space) and commissioning a new kitchen sink area with a stainless counter and space to put in a dishwasher (cause really, who wants to do dishes when there's a baby to play with?!) all our best laid plans came to a screeching halt this week. And it's just laughable. We couldn't get our old couches through the doorway to get them into the basement. Then we called the contractor to set the date for the installation for the kitchen area, only to discover that the counter top never got made!

I'm due in 10 days.

The new couches look nice in the basement for now. The kitchen will get figured out. The dishwasher is safely in it's box in the dining room. And I'm just a round happy lump.

=)

It's cloudy here. No arrival of "Bub" to report. 2+ weeks to go. Way too many inches (feet?) of snow still hanging around. Feeling antsy like a jittery cat.

Other than that I'm very good. I hope you are as well. And aren't these photographs from my Flicker faves and friends marvelous?

Give me some light...

Give me some light and some vitamin C please. =) I'm under the weather, but what's new. Well, what's new is that it's good ol' pink eye (times two) this time, plus a swollen throat. What the heck? I know. Sheesh.

Anyways, I'd love to brag that this is what it looks like around here. But the lovely thing about photography is that it captures a narrow point of view when you want it to, hence you don't see the huge mess my house actually is right now.
Things are finally coming together though. The to-list is getting smaller. Piles of misplaced items are finding their appropriate rooms, finally! And the nursery is actually starting to take shape.

Ohh, and guess what. Today I started my first quilt for the Bub. =) I've been putting it off because I've been expecting it to be a complete disaster, but so far so good! I brought home the wrong color trim piece (whatever it's really called I don't know) and I've decided I need another color thread for the top stitching, other than that I'm feeling quite proud of myself.

I just cursed myself, didn't I? haha

Here's wishing you a marvelous weekend!
