Black] [Friday

I hope your had a great Thanksgiving! I also hope that you didn't have to work today and that you are hunkered down for an enjoyable weekend. And if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope everything is peaceful for you as well.
We left the cities on Wednesday night and drove out to our fams. We did it up "wham bam" and got in a nephew's 3rd birthday party AND a huge Thankgiving dinner all in under 24 hours. Then it was back on the road cause I had to work this morning at 6 a.m. Now that's just cruel, isn't it? =)
This evening I did my part to spend money on the biggest shopping day of the year. I bought myself all 6 seasons of Sex and the City. $8.99 on Amazon. I love Amazon. And I love my Prime membership with free 2 day shipping! Is that a UPS truck I hear coming up the street? It's like the phantom cell phone ring at this point. Haha!
Oh! AND the tree is finally up... Let the holidays begin!

Seats

I brought my polaroid on our trip this past weekend. Don't you love a good road trip? I love the chit chat, the sports radio, the changing sky, and the gas station candy. The one thing about road trips that pain me, (well, besides the seats in our Mazda, Owww!), is that if we stopped every time I saw something I wanted to shoot we'd never get anywhere! Because of this I pack my cameras deep in my bags and try to just take things in and relax. And I only brought with the polaroid, which only had 3 shots left. Talk about self discipline!
Tomorrow I'll post the week's shot for my 52polariodsOfmylife set over on Flickr. It's "eh" okay. ; ) But I'm loving the other two. Seats, which you can see above. Don't you love the wood? And Sushi, which is over here.
All right Monday. You are already getting away from me. I better try to get something done.
Hope your Monday is going swell!

=)
This past Sunday and then on Tuesday my photography was in Treasuries that made the Front Page over on Etsy. I decided that I would just put together a Set over on Flickr for this, cause it'd be just way to obnoxious for me to post them here every other day, right?
I'm so thankful to the great curators Jascamille and OldFashionedButGood for including me in their gorgeous treasuries. It's so encouraging to be new and have people include you. It makes my day and helps me keep going.
Hope your Saturday is going well, I'm off to have some waffles. =)

Have a Shot!

Have a shot... or two! Or three! Okay, okay, don't develop a drinking problem. =P I just wanted to tell you that I took some new merchandising shots for my Etsy shop. This is my third go 'round with merchandising shots. I don't know what it is. I just never like them. They never feel as homey as I'd like. Or it's a cloudy day and I don't have good lighting in the house. But I think I'm feeling satisfied with these. I want to add at least one more. I want to shoot two frames in our hallway, cause we have the prettiest vintage wallpaper there. But natural light is sorta lacking in that space right now. HahaSo, tomorrow is Friday! Yippee! =) I hope you all have fun plans. I think I'm going to a minor league hockey game. I totally don't get hockey. I really don't. It's a shame too, our University of Minnesota Golden Gophers have a great team. But the only other time I went to a hockey game was in Augusta, Georgia. I find it so funny that my only hockey game was when we lived down south. But basically, sit me down with a bunch of nachos and I'll pretty much do anything.

Beachy

I think I will have oodles of photos to process this winter-- yay!
This is from a folder of photographs I took in late summer. Am I the only one that shoots moutains of shots and then only process two and forgets about the rest for half a year?
I'm gonna consider that intentional.
Kinda like when I leave half a roll of candy in the glove compartment, forget it's there, and then get super excited the next time I find it.

[Found]

Found, is what I call this post and it's what I named this recent diptych. For the dip I used a photo taken last year, of a bowl I found in a Charleston, S.C. thrift shop and a photo I "found" in a folder of Fall shots I had taken and subsequently abandoned.
I feel a little lost at the moment, but I have faith that not only will I be found, but that I will find my own way. I know things always work out in the end. I have learned this from years of worrying and over-reacting at the beginning of something, only to be proven that I had nothing to fear later on.
When you feel lost at work, or when you are trying to learn something, or when you feel lost relationship-wise what do you do?
Have you ever found an object that you instantly loved? Or found something you didn't know you even had? What did you do with it?
Being lost can be good, right? I hope so. =)

I'm just too Lucky!

I'm such a lucky girl! My photography has been in two, count 'em ...1 ...2 front page Treasuries on Etsy in less than a week! Giant thank you goes out to Betsy and Sara from Spongetta for including my 3 Green Apples in their gorgeous Treasury. I feel so super cool when I'm in any Treasury, but dang does it make my heart go pitter patter when they make the Front Page.
Maybe this is something Etsy sellers get used to, although I don't know how. I appreciate it so much when another artist would think to put something I've done in a group along side other items that they love. Treasury makers put so much thought into what they pull together and I really think it is a talent. A good treasury makes each individual piece even stronger. I see each item a little differently depending on what is beside it and that can expand the experience.
Well, I'm blubbering now, cause I'm not normally up this late.
Who's going to Coldplay on Friday?
If YOU are, let's *wave* at eachother, k? =)

Edit: I'm speechless.
Thank you ValeriaH for putting my Floating photograph in your treasury. I just saw it on the Front Page this afternoon. Wow. And Yay!
And p.s. you are a wonderful photographer.
